We write about places we have actually been. When a recommendation is drawn from personal, on-the-ground experience, we say so plainly, and we note when the visit happened. Founder Nicci Grotefendt has personally explored the Galápagos and continues to expand her firsthand expedition portfolio; where a claim rests on someone else's reporting rather than ours, we attribute it.
Factual claims trace back to authoritative primary sources: the operators and lines themselves, official destination and conservation bodies, and published records. Where a guide draws a fact from an authority, we cite it and link to it, and every outbound link is checked to resolve.
Our guidance is backed by industry-recognized credentials, including CLIA Certified Cruise Counselor, Aurora Expeditions Certified Advisor, Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic Specialist, Viking Certified Specialist, IAATO membership, ASTA membership, and Travel Leaders Network membership. We do not simulate, estimate, or invent details to fill a page. If something cannot be verified, we either leave it out or flag it clearly rather than present it as fact. Pricing language describes a reprice opportunity, never a guaranteed saving.

Each guide carries the date it was last verified. We re-check time-sensitive claims against their sources and update a page only when a real fact changes, so a freshness date always reflects a genuine review, not a cosmetic edit.
