Every Travel GHR guide is built the same way we build a trip: on firsthand experience, primary sources, and relationships we can vouch for. Here is exactly how we get our information right.
We write about places we have actually been. When a recommendation is drawn from personal, on-the-ground experience, we say so plainly, and we note when the visit happened. Founder Nicci Grotefendt has personally explored the Galápagos and continues to expand her firsthand expedition portfolio; where a claim rests on someone else's reporting rather than ours, we attribute it.
Factual claims trace back to authoritative primary sources: the operators and lines themselves, official destination and conservation bodies, and published records. Where a guide draws a fact from an authority, we cite it and link to it, and every outbound link is checked to resolve.
Guidance comes from direct operator relationships, firsthand travel where we have it, and published operator documentation. Where we have not been somewhere ourselves, we say so. Our areas of work are listed on Our Expertise.
We do not simulate, estimate, or invent details to fill a page. If something cannot be verified, we either leave it out or flag it clearly rather than present it as fact. Pricing language describes a reprice opportunity, never a guaranteed saving.
Client testimonials shown on Travel GHR are genuine and are attributed to the people who wrote them on public platforms such as Google. We never write, buy, or fabricate a review.
Each guide carries the date it was last verified. We re-check time-sensitive claims against their sources and update a page only when a real fact changes, so a freshness date always reflects a genuine review, not a cosmetic edit.
If you spot something that looks wrong, tell us and we will check it against the source and correct it. Getting it right matters more than being fast.
Our recommendations are never bought. If a guide ever contains a commissionable link, it is disclosed plainly, and no commercial relationship changes how we describe a destination, ship, or operator.
